...This was like a 20-25lb fish on length, but hell, its so well Fed or full of eggs/both that it might be close to 30lbs...I seen some mounted in Canadian Lodges around 55-60lbs.. They are a crazy species, very hard to find and scarce , thats what makes fishing for them so fun, its a HUGE challenge..ive caught 1 or 2 muskies in my life and been fishing 13times in Manitoba/Ontario, for them every summer about...A fish of a Thousand Casts Ive heard...it gets quite frustrating tryin to find them

I heard they have a Musky kind of taste, in other words it'd be better to stick to Northern Pike if u can get all the Y bones out...lol... fishing in ONtario and Manitoba is great fun...so many different species of fish from SmallMouth, Yellow Perch and Walleye to Pike and Musky...ALL game fish too and most great tasting, Especially Yellow Perch, its cousin is the Walleye of course,both fish being the BEST Freshwater tasting fish by far!! nonFishy2

@gmrss1234 I see you are in Canada, carp are far more plentiful in your lakes and river systems over there than here in the UK. They are also fished for far more intensely and do wise up, this makes them harder to catch and means we have to adjust our methods accordingly. UK anglers regularly come over to Canada to fish teh St Lawrence etc and outfish the locals 10-1! Horses for courses.

Point being that not as many large fish get released and survive as you would hope, so whats the point? Inflict pain and possibly kill a fish for nothing other than amusement, or inflict pain and kill the fish to eat/sell for food. And fish do indeed feel pain just like any other creature, they have nerve endings that feel sensations just like other creatures. I only think that large fish such as that should be kept and not just thrown back. Honestly Id love to get a chunk of a fish that size XD I may love animals, but not to the point of being ridiculous. I catch and release smaller fish, as the damage done to their gills and mouth is very minimal. I keep what I want to eat. But on a large fish like this, with the fight they have to put up with getting caught. There is a lot of internal damage done compared to smaller fish catch and release.

@TheBassFisherman101 Fly fishing is much more gracefull, and skillfull than bass fishing. It is easy to just through out a line, and let it sink to the bottom of a lake.
