These three demonstrated greatness that make it worthwhile that 'Hook' should be viewed by everyone, despite this not being as good a film as it could have been: the great composer, John Williams, and his genius music Dustin Hoffman (amazing performance even by his high standards) Bob Hoskins (incredibly under-rated, extreme acting abilities fully matching Hoffman here)

yeah- i don't mean to preach either-it is sad and a mistake to let the wedges be driven between environmentalists and outdoor sportsmen-here in Az i have seen billboards in the beautiful white mtns. blaming major forest fires on enviroMENTALists and the like-it wasn't this way a hundred years ago-T roosevelt and parks and such-there is a lot more in common between these groups than with the timber industry, mining, etc. that usually pays for these ads..i think it is changing though-hopefully

I wasn't being sarcastic btw, but i dont mind when people fight for the environment, even if they are over board, becuase i love fly fishing and camping, and im very passionate about the outdoors, so if people ware willing to strap themselves to save trees, go for it. i consider myself a pretty serious environmentalist....and a fisherman....i don't hunt anymore and only kill fish while camping for a meal...i keep fish for home from artificial lakes and stockings and from healthy saltwater areas....i just get perturbed when people preach envirnmental issues and don't really spend time in the wildrness..i realized when i lived in seattle that i appreciated the selective loggers i met while mushroom hunting more than my hrdcore microsoft employee enviropreachers

It is my job to care, trust me when I say I care. There are fisheries to be taken care of, and part of my job is to educate the public on proper care and handling techniques involved in catch and release fishing. Absolutely there will be stress for "that creature." Every creature on this planet will endure stress in its life. To each their own, you're obviously not a fisherman and thats fine, you can enjoy your football and cricket, I wont judge you.

you're obviously not very educated on the subject. Animals do have feelings your absolutely right. So do fish. I will start by pointing out that I am a Fish and Wildlife Technologist. I have worked on numerous projects in relation to recreational and tournament angling. If bass felt pain in their mouths, do you think they would eat sunfish and perch or crayfish? Those spines pack a punch. The nerve endings just arent there to cause the pain that we would feel. My educated 2 cents.

@vjanda1 WEll I caught my 120 lb YTF on a Tiagra 12 two speed and the fish never really got that deep into the spool. I would recommend using braid line so you can get much more line on the smaller reels. In your zodiac you could always fire up the motor and chase the fish if it got too much line out on you. Those big 50 and 80 reels are so big they are not comfortable to fish with and in a boat with little weight it is tough to put on that much pressure anyway. JS

I'm glad to hear my wee zodiac will put up more resistance if I hook up :) As far as the gear I was thinking of much bigger guns like either a Penn Int or Tiagra 50 or 80 class reel. All boats over here 80lbs reels with 900 yard of 80 lbs mono as bluefin of 200-300lbs are not that rare. Do you think I could get away with a 20 or 30 class reel because of the fact I'm in a such a small zodiac? Thanks :)

@vjanda1 Well that Zodiac will have much more resistance than a kayak so you will need to gear up some. I have landed a 120 pound Tuna from my kayak and it is a much different fight than Marlin. Much more straight up and down so you will need some pulling power. I reel like a Talica 20 two speed would do the trick, loaded with 80 pound braid.

Super stuff, well done ! I'm about to try and hook a bluefin tuna in the Adriatic sea and need your advice :) They grow to 600lbs but the average is 100-150. I'll be using a 10ft zodiac that weighs about 500lbs with me and the 15hp outboard. The usual tackle boats use over here is 80lbs rods and reels with 900 yards of 80lbs line. Those seagulls completely ruin this. This piece was perfectly placed in the album and really got the mood going for what came next. You over dubbing really spoilt it for me. Even more annoying was that I come from a seaside town and I know that seagulls are beautifull... they are rats with wings ! Hoping someone will upload the non seagull version soon. Can anyone help? I am trying find out what the piece of music is called that sounds like a Tally Ho song that I'm sure was on one of these albums, but I can't find it anywhere!! It's not the Light Cavalry Charge although that's not too far from it. But I'm sure that it's used when their is a hunt on (sorry I'm not into fox hunting, just like the music!! Brings back some memories. I got this album for Christmas in 1981 or '82, and I found it fun and Dad was glad that I liked it because he was really into classical music and I think he felt that it gave us some musical common-ground. Of course as an ELO fan I also appreciated the fact that Louis Clark had been involved in the production.
